BOOK THE FUTURE
a book for every child, a story for every student
Based in Seattle, Book the Future is an organization
dedicated to global youth literacy. Book the Future seeks to
work towards a future in which every child is able to grow up
in an environment with ample access to reading resources.
Book the Future's ongoing literacy campaign supports
youths and families in need. We believe providing
diverse books for children is a crucial step towards
giving them the agency to improve their futures.
Our mission manifests through several programs:
bimonthly book drives, local events, and a digital magazine
featuring pieces by teen activists.
Andrea Liao is a student at Interlake High School. Throughout her childhood, she has always been able to find solace in her favorite literary worlds and characters. As the founder and president of Book the Future, Andrea hopes to empower youths through the various avenues that literature offers. Book the Future is dedicated to all the children who dare to dream—both between pages and outside of them.
Sabine Wood is a student at Interlake High School, where she is actively involved in debate and orchestra. When she's not at school or practicing cello, you can find her somewhere in the library. Sabine grew up surrounded by books, and now she wants to pass on her childhood and spread the benefits of reading through Book the Future. Sabine strongly believes a good book can change lives, no matter the reader.
